Meet Kathryn

As an occupational therapist, I have a unique set of skills that allow me to support clients from a truly holistic perspective. Through collaboration, trust, and task analysis, I identify the different emotional, sensory, visual, and motor skills that are impeding upon a child’s ability to access aspects of their daily life. From school to home to dance class and back again, I support the whole child as they move through their community.

  • Kathryn’s work with our son has impacted our lives for the better. His bond with Kathryn is strong and with that - his trust.  His ability to emotionally regulate has increased significantly over the last two years; he is now using his tools and working hard to reconnect his brain. As parents, Kathryn’s support is invaluable as a support and advocate. We would not be where we are as a family if not for her and her empathy, understanding, and incredible expertise.

  • 5 stars for Kathryn Dunn's occupational therapy services provided to my daughter, who has PDA/ASD and interoception challenges. My daughter enjoys the sessions, trusts Kathryn, and looks forward to spending time with her. Kathryn's ability to create a safe and nurturing environment has fostered a positive therapeutic relationship. We've had some great success with independence in her routines and expressing herself. Kathryn has gone above and beyond-- finding cutting edge resources and learning new approaches to help my daughter. She uses evidenced based interventions when possible, which I appreciate as a physician. Her professionalism and dedication have been instrumental in building this connection, and we are grateful for her support and guidance.

  • My grandson worked with Kathryn from 2021-2022 the summer before and during first grade. He was referred for dysgraphia and emotional regulation. I can't recommend Kathryn enough. For the first couple of months, she worked in our backyard with him and I could see how skillful and patient she was. My grandson had explosive anger at the time, particularly when he couldn't do something. Kathryn encouraged him to try hard things and manage the explosive feelings he had about failing or losing. Kathryn found ways to keep him working, engaged, and feeling good about his progress. She provided detailed strategies for his classroom teachers to help him succeed in the classroom and problem-solved multiple difficult behaviors he had at home. Kathryn made learning things that were hard fun and my grandson remembers his time with her fondly.

  • We've been seeing Kathryn for a number of months as she helps our son with sensory processing issues, in particular, around food. I have to say, it's a huge relief to have such a skilled, dedicated ally to my son. And she's truly that - an ally and a partner. She's knowledgeable, dedicated and creative with her approach. She seems to really like kids and is good at relating to them. She's relentlessly positive and supportive. With some of these issues with our son, trying to help him feels like wandering around an unfamiliar room blindfolded. It's such a relief (it's worth saying twice!) to have her in our corner. And she celebrates his progress every step of the way.

  • Our son worked with Kathryn during his Kindergarten year and he completely adores her. Not only is Kathryn warm, patient, and so fun, but she is also highly skilled. It was incredible to hear Kathryn’s astute understanding of our son and his challenges after just one meeting. We were shocked by the speed with which our son met his OT goals with her, and as a parent, it has been so moving to see how his confidence blossomed and his capabilities completely transformed with her support. We are so grateful to have come across her and would recommend her to anyone in the area searching for OT support for their child.

  • Kathryn has been a game-changer for our family. Our son was really struggling in Kindergarten. He refused to even set foot in the gym for PE and was being disruptive in the classroom. Kathryn has given him the skills to self-regulate and is teaching him what his body needs. She is teaching him to advocate for himself in the classroom, and he is having a wonderful year in First Grade. Thank you, Kathryn!
